At least one of the Utes remaining recruits doesn't plan on signing with Larry Krystkowiak next month.

Point guard Adonis Filer (6' 2", Fitchburg, Mass.) said today he will decide over his Thanksgiving break between Utah, Tennessee, Purdue and Clemson.

The NCAA's early signing period begins Nov. 9 and ends Nov. 16. If Filer doesn't sign in that timeframe, he'll have to wait until the late signing period that begins on April 11.

Filer grew up in Chicago, but attends prep school in Massachusetts. He visited Clemson over the weekend but said the Utes are still very much in the running.

"They do a lot of things that a lot of other schools don't that keeps me interested," he said. "They call me all the time, they talk to me as much as they can."

Filer is the Utes highest-rated remaining recruit, along with Las Vegas power forward Ben Carter. The Utes have already landed three commitments: Jordan Loveridge, Josh Hearlihy and Justin Seymour. They have all said they will sign national letters of intent during the early signing period.

Filer could be a candidate to play right away for the Utes in 2012. At 6-foot-2 he would be markedly bigger from Glen Dean and Kareem Storey, the two point guards on this year's roster who will be back next year. Both are generously listed at 5-foot-10.
